Joe directs the Children's Ring and Sing music ensemble, which he began doing in the fall of 2021.  He is also a music educator in a local public school.  He graduated from Concordia College in 2004 with a B.A. in Religion and French, served for one year in the Lutheran Volunteer Corps in Washington, D.C., then went back to school to get his Bachelor's of Music Education from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA (2007).  He earned a Master of Music in Music Education Degree from North Dakota State University in 2016 (Go Bison!).

Joe attends Good Shepherd with his three children.  He also participates in the worship team, playing guitar, bass, keys, or cajon as needed.  In his spare time, he enjoys running, spending time with family and friends, reading, singing in the Fargo-Moorhead Choral Artists, and swing dancing.
