Joan is the BeFriender Coordinator. BeFrienders is a listening ministry of care at Good Shepherd. Members are trained to assist homebound members of our congregation—they listen, visit, send encouragement, and offer social interaction. BeFrienders faithfully walk alongside their BeFriendees during difficult phases of life. Joan graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and went on to complete her Masters of Management at the University of Mary. Joan and her husband, Rod, joined Good Shepherd in 2015. They have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren. She is retired and enjoys reading books and traveling.
